Editor´s remark: Listen music with non English lyrics for many people can be unpleasant. But song with in its original lyrics is expressive and can transmit more feeling.
I could fall in love

This is a North American stile professional song contain many special emotion of this continent. Because it is need to be extra carefully at arrangement and at performance. Just a small mistake can destroy performance of.
This song is officially belong to S, but is arrangement is not a best one. From viewpoint of SoPeRe award JL´s award winner performance is a best. Because home country of JLO audience was inspiration by audience and the live recording was essential for this level of performance. Moreover this song bring up some remember for JLO and make it more essential. The band and background singers are collected from many different country of the continent America (south and north). Instead the performance was very good which praise the selection of musicians and singers. All singer can perform this North American stile professional song in a professional way. But JLO at its first live concert perform this song in very emotional way, other words this performance was filled with many (personal) emotions. This is why this performance is exceptional.
The only question is (because the arena performance) a too long silent at end of song confuse the audience and result unexpected reaction (applause) before end of a song.
Audio work was good. The fundamental instrument trumpet is well recorded. The concert is issued (and recorded) on a liner PCM media. This helped to transfer the audio from auditorium to listener.
The video recording was near prefect (at this technical level) for main camera. The black, white and glistening object is well recorded. Using quality screen the cloth, skin and bijou palpable from many thousand kilometre.
The audio and video recording quality is good. If someone have this concert with LPCM audio track, then have a chance to be in Roberto Clemente Coliseum and feel the all concert (e.g. because brass).
Remarkable: stage design was very special and interesting.
Girl From Ipanema
SongWriter: Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes (Eng lirics: Norman Gimbel)
Award winner is: Rose Max vocal with Portuguese lyrics, Ramatis Morais guitar, Michael Orta piani, Jamie Ousley bass and Carlomagno Araya drums, ORQUESTA SINFONICA NACIONAL conducted and arranged by Jeremy Fox, performed in Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica, 2013, Click here .
The song itself is a legend. Well draw a "film" where beautiful young girl walk on her way to the beach, and the songwriter enchanted by her beauty. The lyrics originally written in Portuguese language, just later translated to English.
Countless performance of this song is known, but most of them cannot reflect imagine girl of Ipanema. Sometimes the girl older than 60 years, sometimes go to a beach for its own catafalque. Instead, award winner performance is accurately draw (sing) every step of a young girl. The leading vocal and the key instruments (musicians) are draw well street of Ipanema and shape of a girl. Leading musicians are perfectly steer leading vocal to express the song. The orchestra well open field of vision from a narrow street to the clean sky and to the near ocean. The Portuguese lyrics free much more message of a song than English one.
The arrangement are incredible. The leading vocal and instruments carry together the song. But the orchestra used in accurate way to open "view" of the audience for example from the girl to the all street. Its exemplarily how the leading vocal fluently pass a song to orchestra.
The orchestration, the orchestra, the original Portuguese lyrics and RM it is best projection of this song. If you hear it, then you see to walk a girl in streets of Ipanema. You may draw she´s face, steps and smile.
The audio and video recording has a good quality, and both crew done a good job. My only worry is quality of mic of a leading vocal.
Si Ya Se Acabó (If it´s over)
SongWriters: JAMES NICHOLAS GRECO, MANNY BENITO, RAY CONTRERAS
Award winner is: Jenifer Lopez vocal with Spanish lyrics, from concert Let´s Get Loud, Live from Puerto Rico, Roberto Clemente Coliseum, 2001, Click here .
This song is a popular love song in many country where Spanish is the official language. This is a South American stile song contain many special emotion of this continent. It is a good example how the South Americans use rhythm to explain sadness. Its English translated lyrics found at Click here .
Highlight of this performance its professionality. We can say, perform this song in professional way is near impossible, because carry man felling and sound many rhythm of South America. But JLO at its first live concert perform this song in very professional way. But during this professional performance release all felling hide in a song. Moreover, I must highlight performance of the background vocals, because for the all song was well inseparable part of leading vocal. This is why this performance is exceptional.
The audio and video recording quality is good. If someone have this concert with LPCM audio track, then have a chance to be in Roberto Clemente Coliseum and feel the all concert (e.g. because brass).
No Me Ames (Don´t Love Me)
SongWriter: Giancarlo Bigazzi, Marco Falagiani and Aleandro Baldi
Award winner is: Jennifer Lope and Marc Anthony, Official Video, 2016, Click here .
Original song is written at year 1993 with Italian lyrics. Lyrics translated into Spanish by Ignacio Ballesteros for request of Marc Anthony.
The song with Italian lyrics looks like not find a way to transmit emotional content of a song even with different performers. May the lyrics in Italian language break its emotions. This is why was winner the idea of MA to translate lyrics to Spanish. But this is not all. Duet (performance) of JLO and MA are throw this song to high. Not just free all emotion hide in this song, but add more of them to. Its success can be trust by more than 150M download at YT.
The audio quality of the recording is good but can be better.
Cuando Vuelva a Tu Lado (When I come back to your side)

Reference: Yuri, En Vivo at Teatro Juárez Guanajuato Mexico, 2021, Click here .
The song itself written by MG ( Mexican composer! ) in year 1934 with Spanish lyrics. The song by original conception is a beautiful folk-song. The English lyrics is written later by Stanley Adams.
As performance the EG´s version is the original conception of the songwriter. But near 100 year later Yuri perform it live as " just for fun encore " . From my opinion the performance are reflect well too the original conception of a song. Moreover this version is explain well for today´s audience the song. But until NC´s award winner performance the song is stay in a beautiful folk-song level.
Because the album Brian Monroney and Rudy Perez and Gary Lindsay made an revolutionary arrangement for. This genial arrangement is keep all best quality of a folk-song but with wide and rich orchestration shift it onto the concert hall level and other words top of the world. And with half century performer experience NC perform it onto.
Other quality of this recording is a two language performance (with Spanish and English lyrics). It is tell to everybody: the English lyrics not always the top. At this song the Spanish transmit many more emotion.
The audio recording quality is good. My only worry is, this song published as " itunes bonus track ", therefore is not part of the original CD. If it is not part of, then it is not available in LPCM recording. But this kind of wide orchestra performance is bring more quality and emotion in LPCM recording.
But other sides Yuri´s recording are originally designed to view and listen on a phone. It can be honourable, because listening on a quality phone and on a quality desktop mostly provide a same quality.
Acércate Más (Come closer to me)

The song itself written by OF (Cuban composer) at year 1940 with Spanish lyrics. It is a near cheerful love song.
Whether or not the popular performer of this song is Nathaniel Cole (Nat "King" Cole). But when I heard dozens of other performances and performer I recognized: all of them are interpret in a wrong way. All of sing come closer to me in a funeral; when I lost all of my money in a stock; at audition; when my property burn down. But this song has only meaning: come close to me when we dancing. But to dance need a song (music) that command to your feet to dance. But looks like just the Cole´s have a potential to do it in this way. Performance by NKC are good base for, but not provide enough power to “dance”.
Arrangement of Brian Monroney and Rudy Perez and Gary Lindsay give this song a power to command everybody´s feet to dance. And the real performance goal is the virtual duet of NC and NKC. And finally the dilemma: which one? The NWC and EE and LG performance has its own high artistic lever and value.
The LG recording has some kind of endless transparency and dynamic. We think it is originally recorded in analogue media. In this way every musical instrument has a direct control effect to a human body. You cannot stand a command to dance. But the video and audio recording of is not perfect like NC´s performance.
The EE recording is the prefect studio one. Has a good audio quality. But not show experienced performance of NC.
This is why NWC awarded. This recording are has a good audio and video quality, but the audio of is little bit sterile. This recording show highly experienced and professional performance of NC and in this way add more adventure to. Moreover shift artistic level of this performance. This recorded is got a Desi Arnaz Premio Pionero (Pioneer Award) for and recordinged in this ceremony.
As remark like in other case the English lyrics just degrade value of the performance. See reference with English lyrics.
The audio recording quality is good. Who have chance to listen this performance from a LPCM recording can hear a most impressive song.
Solamente Una Vez (You Belong to My Heart)
SongWriter: Agustín Lara
Award winner is: Natalie Cole, from album En Espanol, 2013, Click here .
Reference: Agustín Lara, from album Sus Grandes Éxitos Vol. 1, 1950, Click here .
The song itself written by AL (Mexican composer) in year 1941 with Spanish lyrics. It is a near cheerful love song.
This is a very popular song, Therefore I found many dozen performance and performer for. One of them was NC´s performance. As last I fund the original AL from year 1950. And at this point I understand geniality of the award winner performance.
First of all for this performance (album) Brian Monroney and Rudy Perez and Gary Lindsay made an excellent arrangement. Why? Because if I hear AL´s original performance, then I had a feeling of want. AL´s performance is like an beautiful picture but in black and white. Maybe he´s has not enough resource to wide arrangement of this song to all orchestra. But the arranger trio BM&RP&GL is done it well. But why it is exceptional? All arrangement what I heard is make orchestration and performance in its own style. Even the great Julio Iglesias distort the original song to another one. But only the BM&RP&GL trio exactly followed original conception of AL´s. In this high artistic way give marvellous colours to AL´s original song. I think it is near similar to relation between Gershwin and Grofee. And of course NC´s (only NC can) vocal performance crown this all.
The audio recording quality is good. Who have chance to listen this performance from a LPCM recording can hear a most impressive song.
Perdón, Perdón (Sorry, sorry)
SongWriter: Larry S. Hermoso, 1994
Award winner is: HA-ASH, live at Mexico City for album Primera Fila:Hecho Realidad, 2014, Click here .
Reference: HA-ASH, live at At Auditorio Nacional, Mexico city, 2019, Click here .
This song is real masterwork of the songwriter trio. But this song is not for all performers. Exactly say it just match for dual leading voice of HA-ASH. To perform it at high artistic level need a contrast between two leading voice and HA-ASH provide it without doubt.
The reference recording is point to some kind of good course to make this song more artistic. But unfortunately provide a less natural emotion. But with more accurate orchestrations (including acoustic musical instrument) it is a very good arena kind performance. But fortunately or unfortunately the 2014 for album performance is a best one and worth an SoPeRe award.
Its audio and video quality is good but not perfect. Its remarkable: the geniality of mixing. This tool find the real balance between the two leading voice. Other side at recording the electronic music instruments are little bit overrepresented and little bit supress the leading voices. For good solution see for example Te Dejo en Libertad (En Vivo)!
Con los Años Que Me Quedan (With the Years That I Have Left)
SongWriter: Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan Jr.
Award winner is: HA-ASH Musical El Pesero Show Amazon Music 2020, Click here .
Reference: Gloria Estefan original video, Click here .
The song itself is a bolero and masterwork from EE. The lyrics fit well to music and can carry many emotional message. Other words it just wait to be extract by performer.
This song is originally belong to GE as performer. GE´s performance is very close to award winner one. But HA-ASH´s twin leading voice is enrich performance in a way how a single voice never. HA-ASH´s this performance is just one step from top of vocal performance and close to O´G3NE level. It easy to reach it with a little bit less Amazon and with a little bit more natural emotions.
The recording quality (video and audio) is very good except a small failure at first min. of a recording. It well recording wide range dynamic of both leading vocals. There is an excellent moment on a video recording where the camera used a fixed position and only using feature of a focus change from the leading vocalist to the musician behind.
Toda la Noche (All Night)
SongWriter: Lila Downs (Ana Lila Downs Sánchez).
Award winner is: Lila Downs, for album Desde Bellas Artes Mexico, Live at Palacio de Bellas Artes - Sala Principal (Palace of Fine Arts - Main Room), Ciudad de México (Mexico City, Mexico), 2022, Click here .
DL´s song is alloy of bolero and tango and traditional music art of Mexico´s elements. The music itself is highly expressive and have many complex element to be. Besides is carrying the simple but very emotional lyrics. As an appetite stimulant: "all shades what i was, Until this day what i dreamed; All night; All day; You are for me". In this way the song carry endless number of emotions. But who can perform it well at stage?
The answer is: just an high experienced singer can do this: LD the songwriter itself. This is why the award winner performance is LD´s original one. She´s performer technique can free near all emotion hide in the song, and the orchestra frame it well. And there is no any stage worthy to carry this song except Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City.
The recording quality (video and audio) is very good. My only worry is sometimes the selected camera aspect is not a best one.
